Hior Chronik
Hior Chronik (George Papadopolous), born in Athens in 1974, breathes life into sound, weaving it into something that exists just outside of time. His journey began in the early 90s, working as a radio producer at Jazz FM and writing for music magazines. But it wasn’t until a decade ago that he fully embraced the art of sound-making, finding his voice in neo-classical and ambient music. With a focus on piano, his compositions are cinematic landscapes — unfolding melodies that hang in the air like memories, melancholic and meditative, with notes scattered like forgotten thoughts.
In 2012, under the name Pill-Oh with Zinovia Arvanitidi, he released Vanishing Mirror on KITCHEN. LABEL — an album that served as his introduction to the world. His 2015 solo debut, Taking The Veil, brought him into a new light, featuring collaborations with artists like Field Rotation and Sophie Hutchings. The album became a quiet bridge between temporal and classical, drawing listeners into a place where time moves differently, where music breathes and lingers.
But Hior Chronik isn’t just a musician; he’s a photographer, capturing grainy, contemplative imagery that complements the introspective nature of his work. His most recent musical venture includes a series of albums with Arovane, released on A Strangely Isolated Place, each collaboration a journey into uncharted sound territories.
Hior Chronik promoted in Europe under 7K! with his solo album Out of the Dust. And the story continues with his 2020 release, Piano Works via KITCHEN. LABEL — a raw exploration of the piano, filtered through his signature introspective lens.

Seductive and cinematic soundscapes between ambient, drone and indie-neoclassical music: these are the best words to describe Hior Chronik’s style. A style that captures ears and soul, bringing you into an imaginary world, arousing emotions, making the mind wander to distant places. This is the goal of the Greek musician, now living since many years in Berlin. He has a personal and unique style that brings Hior Chronik’s music to a wider audience. His sound is able to embrace at the same time the delicate piano themes and the dark ambient/drone tones, while at the same time searching for new territories to explore in the neo-classical scene.
