The versatile Baroque keyboardist Arnaud De Pasquale has a variety of specialties, ranging from historical organs to the music of Domenico Scarlatti. He is equally well known as a solo player, a chamber music performer, and a continuo player with some of France's leading early music ensembles. De Pasquale has made recordings on harpsichord, organ, and fortepiano. Playing the latter instrument, he released the album Mozart à Paris 1778 in 2024.De Pasquale's name is sometimes spelled with a lowercase "de," but his own social media page uses the capital letter. He grew up in a family that liked Baroque music and took to the harpsichord from an early age. De Pasquale began harpsichord studies at age five at the Poitiers Conservatoire with Dominique Ferran. At the Paris Conservatoire (CNSMD), his principal teachers were Olivier Baumont and Blandine Rannou. De Pasquale went on for further instruction with a roster of leading French harpsichordists that included Pierre Hantaï, Skip Sempé, and Blandine Verlet. De Pasquale joined the Pygmalion ensemble, directed by Raphaël Pichon, in 2005 and has performed and recorded with that group ever since. In 2011, he was heard on the multi-artist album Bach: La chair et l'esprit, and in 2012, he released the first of several albums he made with viola da gamba player Lucile Boulanger, Bach: Sonate à cembalo è viola da gamba. That album appeared on the Alpha label.De Pasquale has played harpsichord in several other early music ensembles, including Ensemble Correspondances and the Collegium Vocale, directed by Philippe Herreweghe. As a solo artist, he has given recitals around Europe and in Mexico; in France, he has appeared at such venues as the Château d'Assas (where his interest in historical organs began), the Théâtre de Caen, and the Festival de Radio France in Montpellier. With Boulanger, he recorded the album C.P.E. Bach, Graun, Hesse: Trios for Fortepiano & Viola da Gamba for the Alpha label in 2015. In 2021, he moved to Harmonia Mundi for Organs of the World, Vol. 1: Orgues de Sicile.
